Imperial Trading Plc was established in 2004 E.C., with a paid up capital of USD 150,000 (USD One Hundred and Fifty thousands only) in accordance with the commercial code of Ethiopia under license number 14/673/104280/2005 of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to engage in general import and export.

Owners and managers of Imperial Trading Plc have been in a family based business named DANKALIA Supermarket and ship chandelling service in Assab port as the sole ship chandelier to the Ethiopian shipping lines for more than 25 years, until 1988, as it marched to give the birth of to SPRING SUPERMARKET and then it has outgrown its destination to Import and Export sector.

Imperial Trading PLC is thus established to patronize the import and export of the company, to better reflect the scope of the import and export in the national and international market missions. Under the present management setup we continue to move into the twenty-first century.

ORGANIZATIONAL SET UP AND MANAGEMENT Imperial PLC.

Imperial Trading Plc organizational structure is well organized to meet its objectives. The organization has clearly defined vision, goal and objectives that are collectively developed and shared by the team members of the organization. The organization is structured in such a way that it promotes less bureaucratic procedure and enhances team based activities. At the same time it adopts a well established system that clearly stipulates the level of authorities and accountability of each staff members of the organization. The organizational structure of Imperial Trading PLC is divided based on the functions and it has 5 core functional units. The functional units are the General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Finance & Administration, Store Administrator and Import & Export Division. The General Manager is a top management of the company who is responsible for the formulation and implementation of organizational policy, strategic planning and external communication and relationship. Marketing & sales Division is responsible for customer contact and sale activity of the company. Finance & Admin division is responsible for the day to day activity as well as accounts and fund management. The store admin is responsible for overall stock management of the company.
